Our own California-based correspondent shares colorful photos of his return to Vientiane, Laos for a traditional Buddhist wedding engagement. The celebration took place in March 2010 and featured family and friends from throughout Laos.

Klarissa Pachith Keovanpheng is the proud new owner of the popular Lao Social Networking site laobuddy.com. Her drive to succeed began at an early age and has not slowed down (which explains why her screenname is “Sharkie”).

History was made on Saturday, August 8th, 2009 at the iconic Palace of Fine Arts Theater, San Francisco, CA. Amy Monmaly Chanthaphavong was chosen by a panel of seven judges to be the 2009 Queen of the 24th Annual Miss Asian America Pageant. She beat out 22 other contestants at the Miss Asian America.
